This week in room 1 we have been making 'reading wheels' about a book we have been reading. The book that I chose for mine was Tom Gates by L. Pichon. On our reading wheel there had to be 6 sectors that were equal in size. Each sector had to be exactly 60° (60 degrees). We had to learn about diameters, right angles, sectors, degree angles, a radius and how to use protractors.
diameter: a diameter is a line that splits a full circle (360°)
radius: a radius is a line that goes from the middle point to the edge of a circle.
protractor: an instrument used to measure angles.
right angles: a right angle is 90°. there are 4 right angles in a full rotation (360°)
Well done Hunter . Mum x
ReplyDeleteWow Hunter - very interesting reading about how to use a protractor - I wonder who invented this tool to measure circles....?
ReplyDeleteStorm :)
Kia ora Hunter - your reading wheel is great! The black pen outline of your illustrations really makes them "PoP"!! You also did a great job measuring the angles for the sectors of your wheel - BRAVO!
