Gisborne herald interview & strike action

On wednesday, the teachers all around New Zealand took action and had a huge mega strike all around the country. Me,  my mum and my sister Amelia went to support the teachers at the Gray St roundabout. It was my first protest and it was really fun. I even got interviewed by the Gisborne herald while I was there. I lead the improvised molenberg chant with koka Sue. About 70% of the cars beeped at us for support. I had a sign and a star shaped rattle to hold and shake. We were only there for about half an hour but it was really fun. I think that the teachers deserve more pay and better conditions. Here is a picture of me:

  1. Kia ora Hunter,
I bet the teachers really appreciated your support. Good for you leading the chant!
Has the interview been in the Gisborne Herald? I would love to read it. Maybe you could put a link to it on your blog?

  3. Kia ora Hunter,
We appreciated your support at the strike. I heard your interview on the Gisborne Herald website. http://gisborneherald.co.nz/video/4120940-135/for-the-future-of-this-country
You spoke succinctly and clearly. I was impressed by your poise in front of the camera! Maybe one day you will be Prime Minister and can support teachers really well!
